ДИМИТРИЈЕ К. ВОРОЊЕЦ, редовни члан АИНС од 2000. године, редовни професор Машинског факултета Универзитета у Београду у пензији, рођен је 30. јула 1936. године у Београду, од оца Константина и мајке Татјане, рођене Виницки. Основну школу и гимназију завршио је у Београду и матурирао 1954. године у XIV београдској гимназији. Године 1954. уписао се на Машински факултет Универзитета у Београду, где је дипломирао 1960. године. Магистрирао је 1966. године на Природноматематичком факултету у Београду са магистарским радом „Температурски гранични слој на брзоротирајућим криволинијским контурама”. Докторирао је, као двогодишњи стипендиста Хумболдт-ове фондације 1969. године, на Техничком Унивезитету у Karlsruhe са докторским радом „Beltrami- Stromung auf Kugelflachen ”.

После дипломирања, краћег запослења као самостални инжењер у предузећу „Славонски Партизан” –Славонски Брод, и одслужења војног рока у ЈНА, године 1962. изабран је за асистента на Катедри за термомеханику Машинског факултета у Београду, где је био биран за доцента 1971. године, ванредног професора 1978. године и редовног професора 1982. године. Предавао је предмете Термодинамика, Технолошке операције, Сушаре, Термотехника, а такође и Основе процесне хемије на додипломским студијама матичног факултета и на факултетима у Подгорици, Ваљеву, Краљеву и у Ужицу. На последипломским студијама предавао је више специфичних предмета из шире области Термодинамике. Био је шеф Катедре за термомеханику Машинског факултета у Београду од 1983. до 2001., продекан за наставу истог факултета 1985-1989. и вршио већи број изборних дужности и функција. Био је на већем броју гостовања и студијских боравака у Немачкој, Норвешкој и Русији. Проф. др Вороњец је редовни члан Инжењерске Академије Југославије од 2000. године, експерт Савезног Министарства за науку и технологију (Термодинамика, Процесна техника, Сушење, Енергетика) од 1993. године, делегат Југославије у Европској федерацији за хемијско инжењерство (Одељење за сушење) од 1990. године, члан друштва GAMM Society (Немачка), члан друштва Drying technology (САД), члан Југословенског друштва за механику, члан више научних одбора часописа и конгреса итд. Добитник је Медаље Југословенског друштва за КГХ 1997. године и плакете Југословенског друштва за Процесну технику 1998. године. 2002. године изабран је за иностраног члана Russian Academy of Architecture and Constructional Sciences.

Професор Вороњец је аутор или коаутор 17 књига (две монографије), већина у више издања, релативно често цитиране, а једна преведена на руски: Д. Вороњец, Ђ. Козић: Влажнyи воздух – термодинамицхеские своиства и применениyа, пп. 135, Енергоатомиздат, Москва, 1984. Аутор је или коаутор више од 180 научних и научно-стручних радова објављених у међународним и домаћим часописима, зборницима радова са међународних и домаћих конгреса, саопштених на међународним и домаћим конгресима. Многи научни резултати ових радова цитирани су од стране других аутора.

Био је руководилац или сарадник на више од 15 пројеката који су финансирани од Министарства за науку и технологију: Руководилац пројекта С20418203 (ПП7) „Рационализација потрошње енергије са развојем одговарајућих процеса и уређаја”, 1994-1997; Руководилац пројекта С.08.24.0030 „Потенцијали, мере и поступци за смањење специфичне потрошње у КЦМ Сартид АД”, 1998-2000. Такође је аутор или коаутор великог броја научних, стручних и техничких рецензија и ревизија. Проф. др Вороњец је одржао већи број предавања по позиву: у више наврата на Institute for Fluid Dynamics, Karlsruhe – 1976-2001, Институт термофизике СО АН СССР Новосибирск (2) (1980), Одбор за сушење, Москва (1986), Институт за физику минерала АН СССР, Москва (1992), Универзитет у Битољу (БЈР Македонија) (1996), и више пута на факултетима и институтима у земљи (Београд, Ниш, Нови Сад, Лесковац, Зрењанин, итд.). Био је ментор више од 170 дипломских радова, 26 магистарских радова и 22 докторска рада на разним факултетима у Југославији (и много више пута члан комисија за оцену и одбрану магистарских и докторских радова).

Најзначјнији научни доприноси Д. Вороњеца везани су за неке специфичне области теоријске и примењене термодинамике, као што су комбиновани пренос топлоте и материје приликом конвективног сушења (са већим бројем техничких решења), аналогије приликом струјања, преноса топлоте и преноса материје, проблематика неких области термотехнике и термоенергетике са аспекта уштеде и рационалне потрошње енергије, као и неки проблеми термодинамике вишекомпонентних система и хемијске термодинамике.

DIMITRIJE K. VORONJEC, Full Member of AESS from 2000, Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, was born on July 30, 1936 in Belgrade by father Konstantin and mother Tatjana, born Vinicki. He attended primary school in Belgrade as well as secondary school (XIV Belgrade Secondary School), which he completed in 1954. He enrolled in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade in 1954 and graduated from it in 1960. He completed postgraduate study at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and took his M.Sc. degree in 1966 with the thesis “The Temperature Boundary Layer on a Fast-rotating Curving Contour”. As a winner of the two-year fellowship by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Dimitrije Voronjec earned his Ph.D. degree at The Technical University – Institute for Fluid Dynamics – Karlsruhe, in 1969. The title of his Ph.D. thesis was: “Beltrami- Stromung auf Kugelflachen”.

After graduating and taking up a temporary job as independent mechanical engineer in the factory “Slavonski Partizan” – Slavonski Brod, and after finishing one-year military service, Dimitrije Voronjec was elected Teaching Assistant in the Department of Thermomechanics at the Faculty оf Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade in 1962. In the same department, he was promoted to Assistant Professor in 1971, Associate Professor in 1978 and finally Full Professor in 1982. During his work at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering he taught the following subjects at the undergraduate level: Thermodynamics, Technological Operations, Drying Equipment, Thermotechnics and Fundamentals of Chemistry in Process Techniques. He taught the same subjects at some other technical faculties in the former Yugoslavia: in Podgorica, Valjevo, Kraljevo and Užice. At his home faculty, he taught to postgraduate students several courses in different areas of thermotechnics. In the period 1983-2001 he was Head of the Department of Termomehanics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade and during that period he also performed a lot of election duties. He was Vice-dean responsible for education matter at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade between 1985 and 1989. Professor Voronjec has realized a large number of visits and studying sojourns in Germany, Norway and Russia. He has been a full member of the Engineering Academy of Yugoslavia since 2000; Expert of the Federal Ministry for Science and Technology (Thermodynamics, Process Techniques, Drying, Energy) since 1993; Representative of Yugoslavia in Europe Federation of Chemical Engineering (Department for Drying) since 1990; Member of GAMM Society (Germany), Member of Drying technology (USA), Member of the Yugoslav Society of Mechanics, member of many editorial boards of scientific journals and scientific congress etc. Dimitrije Voronjec is the owner of the Medal of Yugoslav Association of HVC (1997) and a Diploma of the Yugoslav Association of Process Techniques (1998). From 2002, foreign member of Russian Academy of Architecture and Constructional Sciences.

He is author/co-author of 17 books (2 monographs), most of them being reprinted many times, as well as relatively frequently cited. One of his books was translated into Russian: D. Voronjec, Đ. Kozich: Vlazhnyi vozduh – termodinamicheskie svoistva i primeneniya (Humid Air – Thermodynamic Properties and Applications), pp. 135, Energoatomizdat, Moskva, 1984. He is author/co-author of more than 180 scientific and professional works in the international and domestic journals or in proceedings of symposia. Some of these works have been cited by other authors.

Professor Voronjec is also author/co-author of more than 50 expert and professional works and projects, of which most prominent are: Study of utilization of waste heat in SOUR Valjaonica – Sevojno, (coordinator), 1988 S. Rackov, D. Voronjec: Diffusion-effusion model of controlled atmosphere with evaluation of transparency coefficient in special purpose buildings, In: Heat and Mass Transfer in Building Material and Structures, pp. 71-78, Hemisphere, New York, 1990. He was the manager or research fellow in more than 15 projects financed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, of which most outstanding are the following ones: Project S20418203 (PP7) “Rational Use of Energy with the Development the Process Equipments”, manager, 1994-1997. Project S.08.24.0030 “The Potentials, Measures and Activities for Diminishing Specific Energy Use in KCM Sartid AD”, manager, 1998-2000. Professor Voronjec is author/co-author of a large number of scientific, professional and technical reviews and revisions. He has been invited a lot of times to deliver lectures in various institutions: Institute for Fluid Dynamics, Karlsruhe – (several times), 1976-2001, Institute of Thermophysics SO AN USSR Novosibirsk (2), 1980, The Committee for Drying, Moskva, 1986, Institute of Physics of Minerals AN USSR, Moskva, 1992, University in Bitolj (Macedonia), 1996, and many time at various domestic faculties and institutes (Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad, Leskovac, Zrenjanin, etc.). He has guided more than 170 B.Sc. works, 26 M.Sc. theses and 22 Ph.D. theses at different faculties in Yugoslavia (and many time more he was member of examining board for evaluation and defense of M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses).

The most important scientific contributions of Professor Dimitrije Voronjec are concerned with some specific areas of theoretical and applied thermodynamics. Some of them are: conjugate heat and mass transfer during process of convective drying (with a large number of technical solutions), triple analogy among momentum, heat and mass transfer in a fluid flow, some special characteristics of different heat exchangers, some thermo-technical and thermoenergetical problems in connection with rational use of energy, some problems of thermodynamics in many-component systems and in the chemical thermodynamics.

He is married, wife Zdenka and daughter Tatjana.
