ДУШКО КАТИЋ, дописни члан Академије Инжењерских Наука Србије (АИНС) од 2007. године, рођен је 08. фебруара 1959. године у Крагујевцу, од оца Милана и мајке Ружице, рођене Лукић. Основну школу и гимназију завршио је у Крагујевцу као носилац дипломе ‘’Вук Караџић‘. Дипломираo je na Машинскoм Факултету, Универзитета у Београду, смер Аутоматско Управљање, 1982. године са просечном оценом: 9.49. Магистрирао је на истом факултету, јануара 1987. године из области управљања манипулационим роботима. На Електротехничком Факултету, Универзитета у Београду, Јуна 1994, одбранио је докторску дисертацију из области адаптивног и интелигентног управљања роботским системима.

Од јуна 1983. године запослен је као инжењер аутоматског управљања и роботике и истраживач у Институту "Михајло Пупин" у Београду, у Центру за Роботику, где и данас ради као научни саветник. Био је ангажован на пројектима везаним за симулацију и управљање сложеним динамичким системима, математичко моделирање роботских система, синтезу закона управљања за роботе, развој управљачког софтвера и контролера за роботске системе и летелице. Учествовао је у више од 10 софтверских пројеката везаних за моделирање и управљање роботским системима и другим великим системима. Последњих 15 година Др Душко Катић се интензивно бави у оквиру пројеката које финасира. Министарство за Науку и Технологије Републике Србије, истраживањима и руковођењем из области интелигентног управљања индустријским, сервисним и хуманоидним роботским системима. Примарни стручни и научно – истраживачки интерес обухавата области аутоматског управљања, роботике и интелигентних аутономних система, са посебним интересом за развој метода интелигентног управљања и обучавања сервисних и хуманоидних роботских система као и за развој когнитивне роботике.

Као аутор или коаутор, објавио je преко 100 научних публикација: 2 међународне монографије на еnглeском језику (Kluwer, World Scientific), 5 поглавља на енглеском језику у међународним монографијама (Marcel Dekker, Kluwer, John Wiley & Sons, CRC Press), 17 радова на енглеском језику у међународним часописима (IEEE Transactions, IFAC Automatica., Mechanism and Machine Theory, Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems, IASTED Journal of Robotics and Automation. Applied Intelligence, International Journal of Robotics Research), 9 радова у домаћим часошисима, 44 радa на енглеском језику на међународним конференцијама и 26 радова на домаћим конференцијама. Цитираност пунликација Др Душка Катића је 28 цитата у SCI EXTENDED, преко 100 пута на scholar.google.com, преко 100 пута у зборницима међународних конференција и преко 100 пута у другим међународним часописима.

У дужем временском периоду, био је повремени асистент и предавач на редовним и постдипломским курсевима из области роботике на многим универзитетима у земљи и државама претходне Југославије. У оквиру студијских путовања и усавршавања, у децембру 1991. године на основу UNIDO стипендије боравио је на Fraunhofer Институту за Производне Системе и Технологију Пројектовања (IPK), Berlin, Немачка, као и у Фебруару 1997. године када је боравио на Институту за Механику Б, Техничког Универзитета у Минхену, Немачка и Институту за роботику и динамику система Немачког Авиокосмотехничког Института – DLR. Јуна 2003 на позив IST Superior Technico, University of Lisboa, Лисабон, Португал, одржао је предавање из области интелигентног управљања роботским системима.

Од професионалних задужења, oд jула 1995 је Member of IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers - Члан Друштва за Управлљачке Системе и Друштва ѕа Роботику и Аутоматизацију, док је od Фебруарa 1999 постао Senior Member of IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Јула 2004 постао је организациони и први Председник IEEE подружнице Друштва за Рачунарску Интелигенцију за Србију и Црну Гору. Др Душко Катић је почасни члан INTERNATIONALSAR-а, међународног научног друштва за информационе технологије.

Члан је програмских комитета више међународних конференција:. Рецензент је више научних радова поднетих за публиковање у међунарсодним часописима: Applied Intelligence; Transactions on ASME, Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control; Journal of Robotic Systems; Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems; Automatica, Journal of IFAC; Computers in Industry. IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks. Рецензент је више научних радова поднетих за излагање на међународним конференцијама: IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation; IEEE International Conference on Neural Networks; IFAC Workshop on Intelligent Assembly and Diassembly, IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, Intenational Conference on Advanced Robotics, European Control Conference. Као експерт, учествовао је у рецензији пројеката Европскe Заједнице под окриљем IST-FET Иницијативе у оквиру програма FP6.

Као коаутор међународне истраживачке монографије Intelligent Control of Robotic Systems, издате од стрене Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht, Oктобра 2003, добитник је годишње награде града Београда за остварења из области природно-техничких наука за 2004. годину. На 36. Конференцији ETRAN-а на Копаонику, као и Конфернцији DQM-2002 у Београду, награђен је за најбоље радове у секцији за роботику и генерално.

DUŠKO KATIĆ, Correspondent Member of Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia (AESS) from 2007, was born on February 08, 1959 at Kragujevac by father Milan and mother Ružica, b. Lukić. He finished his primary and secondary education in Kragujevac. He took his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade in 1982 and 1987, respectively. In 1994, at the Faculty of Electrotechnical Engineering, Belgrade, he defended his doctoral dissertation (Ph.D.) from area of adaptive and intelligent control of robotic systems.

Since 1983, he has been a researcher in the Robotics Laboratory, Mihailo Pupin Institute, Belgrade, Serbia, where he is currently a senior research scientist, scientific counselor and project manager. He was engaged in the many projects dealing with simulation and control of complex large-scale systems, mathematical modeling and control synthesis of robotic systems and flying objects. He was participant in more than 10 software projects connected for modeling and control of robotic systems and other large-scale systems. Last 15 years, Dr Katic’s basic activityis research and managing from areas of intelligent control of industrial, service and humanoid robotic systems. Primary research interest of Dr Katić is in areas of intelligent control of industrial, service and humanoid robotics, intelligent information systems, computational intelligence, multi-agent systems and cognitive robotics.

He is the author or coauthor of more than 100 scientific papers: 2 international monographs Intelligent Control of Robotic Systems (Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2003) and Unified Approach to Dynamic and Intelligent Control of Robots Interacting with Dynamic Environment, (World Scientific, 2008), 5 chapters in international monograph (Marcel Dekker, Kluwer, John Wiley & Sons, CRC Press), 17 papers in international journals (IEEE Transactions, IFAC Automatica., Mechanism and Machine Theory, Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems, IASTED Journal of Robotics and Automation. Applied Intelligence, International Journal of Robotics Research), 9 papers in domestic journals, 44 papers in international conferences, and 26 papers in domestic conferences. According to citation index, he has 28 citation in SCI EXTENDED, more than 100 on scholar.google.com, more than 100 in proceedings of international conferences and more than 100 in international journals.

Since 1984 he has been a temporary assistant professor and lecturer from area of robotics at many universities in Serbia and other republics of former Yugoslavia. Duško Katić visited as part of his study tour, Fraunhofer Institite for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK), Berlin, Germany, at December 1991, using UNIDO fellowship and Institute B for Mechanics, Technical University of Munich, Germany, at the February 1997. In June 2003, he was lecturer at IST Superior Technico, University of Lisboa, Portugal.

He is a meber of IEEE from 1995 and Senior member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) since February 1999 and 3 technical societies in the frame of IEEE (Computational Intelligence Society, Control Systems Society, Robotics and Automation Society). He is a currently and founding Chair of Serbia & Montenegro Chapter of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. Dr Dusko Katic is honorary member of INTERNATIONALSAR, international scientific association for information technologies.

He has been member of program committees of many international conferences and reviewer of papers for the international journals: IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Robotics, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, Applied Intelligence, Transactions of ASME, Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement and Control, Journal of Robotic Systems, Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems, Automatica, Journal of IFAC, as well as for international conferences: IEEE International Conference of Robotics and Automation and IEEE International Conference on Neural Networks, IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems. Dr Katic has been served as expert of European Union reviewing of research projects under the frame of IST-FET Initiative (European Union Framework Program 6).

As author of international research monograph Intelligent Control of Robotic Systems, published by Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht, October 2004, he was awarded with special year prize of city Belgrade, Serbia for achievements in natural-technicl sciences for 2004 year. In 36^th ETRAN Conference, Kopaonik, 1992 and DQM Conferemce, Belgrade,2002 he was awarded for best papers in robotic section and general.
